"The Nachtwacht" is a masterpiece of Rembrandt van Rijn.
Rembrandt van Rijn was one of our greatest painters.
For me, he was my Pen & Ink drawing teacher.
For about 10 months I had a poster of The Nachtwacht
hanging over my bed while making sketches of all the
persons in the poster.
After this preparation, I began a drawing session of
74 hours straight without sleep, so as not to miss
any details.
My parents gave me a lot of coffee to keep me awake.
My thinking behind this drawing is to let other people
see that you can do anything with the medium Pen & Ink.
It was the largest drawing I had ever made, but later
on even bigger drawings followed.
